Zimbabwe has an annual sales registration threshold of USD $40,000. What does this mean exactly? Well, the threshold amount refers to your total sales in the country, during any 12-month period.
Most new companies in Zimbabwe are Private Limited Companies (PLCs). This is the standard business structure for any company which has been registered withe intention to make profit for the owners of the business. It allows for the sharing of profits amongst the owners of the business whilst offering restricted financial liability. The shareholders can only be held liable for company debts up to the value of the shares they hold in the company. This means that their personal assets will be protected in the event that the company faces liquidation.
We recommend having you handle the day-to-day aspects of your business that need immediate attention, such as paying your bills, and we'll handle the monthly accounting and bookkeeping.
Some owners want to continue to handle the bookkeeping portion internally. MBC allows this, although we don’t necessarily encourage it. Before we even consider this option, we would like you to have a professional bookkeeper on staff. Doing your own bookkeeping may hinder you more than it helps you if mistakes occur.
The statutory leave for Zimbabwe is one month after a continuous employment duration of one year. Weekends and public holidays are counted as part of the vacation leave days.
